There are multiple ways to initiate a call

1. Lift the handset. The first available line on your phone will be selected and you can dial the number directly or select a contact from the directory available via the directory softkey option on the screen. You can navigate the directory by using the arrow keys on the phone. Once you’ve selected a contact, you can start the call by pressing the softkey send option or pressing #.

Tip: You can dial the number first and then pick up the handset to start the call.

2. Speaker or Headset button. Press the speaker or headset button and the first available line will be selected. Dial the number or use the directory and press the softkey send or # option to start the call.

3. History Softkey. With the handset in the cradle of the phone, you’ll see the history softkey option on the screen. Press the history softkey button to bring up previous numbers and scroll up & down using the arrow keys. Once you’ve selected the number, press the softkey send option to start the call. The call will be on speaker and picking up the handset will not disconnect the call.

4. Directory softkey. Press the directory softkey button, search contact groups and specific contacts using the arrow keys. Press the softkey send option to start the call. The call will be on speaker and picking up the handset will not disconnect the call. While on a call, you can press another line key to start a new call. The original call will automatically be placed on hold.
