Can multiple phones share the same extension for incoming and outgoing calls?

GreenLink allows a single extension to be configured on up to four devices simultaneously, giving users the flexibility to stay connected from multiple locations and devices throughout the day.

This feature is ideal for users who want to seamlessly move between their office phone, home office phone, mobile softphone app, and desktop softphone application without needing separate extensions for each device.

For example, a user could have:

  • A physical phone at the office
  • A physical phone at home
  • The GreenLink Softphone App on their mobile device
  • The GreenLink Desktop App on their laptop or computer

This setup creates a more efficient and flexible communication experience, ensuring calls can be answered from whichever device is most convenient at the moment.

Important Information

Because these devices are designed to be used by the same user, the extension is not intended for simultaneous active use across multiple devices at the same time.

Cost-Effective Solution for Shared or Low-Usage Areas

This feature can also help reduce monthly costs in situations where multiple phones are needed, but usage is minimal.

Example Use Case

Imagine you have a guest phone extension, such as extension #152, and need to place guest phones in four separate guest areas throughout a facility.

Instead of purchasing four separate extensions, GreenLink can configure all four phones to share the same extension. This allows all devices to function under a single extension while still providing convenient access across multiple locations.

Please note that GreenLink does not currently offer a separate “low-usage” extension pricing model for guest phones or common area phones.
